About Me

I am Chao LI (李超), a Research Associate and Project Manager at Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIOIR) at Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS), the University of Manchester. I am responsible for a work package of projects co-funded by the UK Funding Council (EPSRC), the University of Manchester and the world-leading consumer goods company Unilever. I received my PhD degree in Innovation, Management and Policy from the University of Manchester in Dec. 2017, and Master (in Management Science and Engineering) and Bachelor degree (Mechanical Engineering and Automation) from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China.

My professional fields lie in manufacturing, SMEs, innovation system, innovation strategies and networks, corporate management, supply chain, digitalisation, and etc. My research mainly targets digital transformation, business and corporate strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship, technology development, strategy and policy development, market research, etc.

I am also the Director of Manchester China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base (MCIEB), the Vice President of China Students and Scholars Assocation in UK (CSSA-UK), and the Honorary President of China Students and Scholars Assocation in Manchester (CSSA-MAN).
